About Isaac Getz

Isaac Getz is an author, advisor to CEOs and senior leaders, and an internationally recognized speaker. He is Professor at ESCP Business School and a leading voice on how organizations achieve enduring performance through trust, autonomy, responsibility, and engagement.

He works with a select group of CEOs and senior leaders navigating transformation, uncertainty, and consequential decisions.

His more recent work challenges conventional views of performance, showing how companies create durable success through unconditional care for customers, suppliers, and local communities—arguing that long-term performance is often the consequence of how a company treats the members of its business ecosystem.

Author & Ideas

Isaac Getz is the co-author of the international bestseller Freedom, Inc. (2009, with Brian Carney), translated into over a dozen languages. The book sparked broad interest among business leaders in management built on autonomy, responsibility, and initiative at scale.

He is also the author or co-author of several other books, including Liberated Company (2017), Leadership Without Ego (2019), and The Caring Company (2025, with Laurent Marbacher), which articulates a model of business performance rooted in care rather than self-interested transactions.

Advisor to CEOs

His advisory work is typically direct, confidential, and long-term, centered on a small number of senior leaders.

He acts as a thinking partner on transformation, strategic trade-offs, leadership posture, organizational culture, and the deeper human realities behind major decisions. His role is not to offer ready-made answers, but to help leaders see more clearly, challenge assumptions, and move forward in ways that fit their context—and that they are ready to lead.

Speaker

Isaac Getz is an internationally recognized keynote speaker on leadership, organizational transformation, engagement, business purpose, and high performance.

Over several decades, he has addressed executive audiences, leadership forums, and major conferences across Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa, including TEDx talks, the Peter Drucker Global Forum, World Knowledge Forum, and hundreds of events for boards, leadership teams, managers, and corporate audiences.

His talks combine intellectual clarity with concrete examples, often leaving audiences with a shifted perspective on performance and leadership.

Academia

Isaac Getz is Professor at ESCP Business School, one of Europe’s leading business schools, with campuses in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, and Turin.

He has also served as Visiting Professor at Cornell University and Stanford University.

Isaac Getz’s work has helped inspire hundreds of listed and private companies, as well as public institutions and administrations to move away from command-and-control models toward cultures of initiative, trust, and responsibility.

Organizations influenced by these ideas include major industrial groups, retailers, service providers, healthcare institutions, and public administrations in Europe and beyond.
